Intercounty
First off this week, congratulation to Waterford and especially our own lads Conor, Neil and Michael on a massive win over Cork in the 1st round of the Munster championship. This was a great occasion in front of a capacity Walsh Park with an excellent performance. It’s great to get a win on the board and it’s on now to Tipp in 2 weeks’ time.
Unfortunately, the Senior footballer and U-20 hurlers were both defeated. There’ll be other days for these and hopefully we’ll gat another few wins on the board.
County Leagues
The county leagues continued over the weekend with both football teams in action. The Intermediates went down by 2 points against Bunmahon on Thursday, whilst the Seniors had a good win over An Rinn on Saturday.
This coming weekend Gaultier and Fenor provide the opposition.

Academy Update
The boys from the U6 to U10 groups didn't let the bad weather interrupt their Saturday morning fun over the past weeks, but the glorious sunshine on Saturday meant that that there was a great buzz out at the field amongst our young players, their parents, and the coaches too!
The sliotars were flying with the U6's in the astroturf, while out on grass the U7's and U8's were honing their skills with the big ball and making the most of the firm ground.
On the main pitch the U9's welcomed An Ghealtacht and Ardmore in the Déise Óg football league. It was lovely to see young Adam Drummey return to action after a long term injury, and scoring a goal to boot!
The other half of the group travelled to play St. Pat's and Dungarvan. Well done boys!
U10
After a good block of football, the boys picked up the hurleys this week, both to keep the eye in and to introduce a bit of variety. They play the next round of the Déise Óg U10 football League this weekend and are looking forward to find out who they will be playing.
U11
Like the U9s and u10s, the U11s have two teams in their Deise Óg league. On Monday 15th, one team played Lismore and Dungarvan in the Burgery while the other group played St Mary's in Bonmahon. Both teams did really well and enjoyed the challenge!
U12
Our U12s made the most of the good weather with two outings this week. Friday saw them in action against St Marys where they put on a fantastic team display of hurling. On Sunday they hosted Rathgormack in a tough encounter which saw a slow first half display but a mighty second half. The lads continue with training this week and are on the road for hurling on Friday.
U13
The championship campaign continued for the U13s with a visit to Lismore where they lost out by four points. Next up is Gaultier on Wednesday evening in the Burgery. Good luck lads!
U15
The division 1 team played the Nire on Monday 15th in the Mill field. It was a tough match but the Ballinacourty boys ran out convincing winners with a scoreline of 2-11 to 1-08. They host St Oliver's in the next round on Monday 22nd.
The division 4 panel were scheduled to play Ballyduff Upper on Monday 15th but the match was postponed due to a shortage of referees. On Monday 22nd they travel to Portlaw in what will be the second match in the championship. Best of luck to both panels.
County Duty
Six boys from our juvenile section donned the county colours over the weekend. On Saturday, Dara Byrne, Rian Cliffe, Killian Hagan and Fionnán Murray played for the Waterford U14 hurling development squad in UL against Limerick. Well done boys and keep up the good work.
On Sunday it was the turn of Lochlainn Hurney, (Scoil Mhuire) and Tadgh O' Connor (Scoil Gharbhán) to wear the white and blue. The two boys from our U13 panel played at half time in Walsh Park during Waterford's win over Cork. The boys did their families, their schools and their club very proud and had a fantastic day.
Primary Schools
Congratulations Scoil Mhuire Abbeyside, who won the primary schools football county final during the week. Well done to all involved, it's a great achievement.
